The Store is Closing
So…a bit more than 12 years ago, I decided to give this a try — found a location, came up with a name, and asked Robin Bielefield to put together a logo that ended up becoming our mascot as well. Edgar Allan Crow and I have had a good run – but it’s time for Edgar to find a new roost and for Runaway to close its doors.
We won’t be gone right away – our lease doesn’t expire until November 30, so we plan to close the store for the final time the weekend before Thanksgiving. And we still have plenty of classes on the calendar – and even several product orders on the way! I hope that Runaway will continue to be your “go to” papercrafting, mixed media, and art supply store for several more months. But we are going to start selling down our inventory, as well as the fixtures and equipment. Don’t worry – our shelves are far from bare, and we will have plenty to offer for a good, long time!
The good news for all of you is that everything in the store will be at least 20% off the list price (with some exceptions) beginning September 2, with further reductions down the road. (See my video on Facebook).
Please come by to check things out and chat, even if you haven’t visited us in a while. I love this store – because I love my customers. And I treasure the friendships I’ve made and all the support you have provided along the way. This is hard. If you just want to come by sometime between now and November 23 to give me a hug, trust me, I can use more than one! Owning Runaway hasn’t made me rich in the normal way. But it has made me rich in the best sense. My heart is full of memories I had wished could have continued a bit longer.
