Instructor: Cynthia Dawson

So many of you have expressed an interest in learning more about watercolor techniques – so Cynthia joined the Runaway gang as an instructor late last year.

She’s a recent WOU graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration with water mediums. “Watercolors are a tricky but rewarding medium, and I look forward to sharing the knowledge I’ve acquired with the local art community.”

She’ll be teaching an introduction to watercolors, particularly focusing on how to use them to create controlled washes, as well as some of the tools that can be used with watercolors, including watercolor pencils and liquid latex. And her sample image is a wonderfully wintry penguin!
